What are the minimum requirements for the Roping Assistant or Professional
Software?
Both programs require a 486-33 or faster computer
Windows 3.1 or above (Win95, Win98, WinME, WinNT, Win2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, etc)
4 Meg Ram (8 or more recommended)
15 Meg disk space
Printer for reports
Note: This will NOT run on 64-bit Operating Systems (Windows XP 64 or Vista 64)
Does the software run on Windows Vista?
Yes! But to make it run properly, you must change one of the settings on the
shortcut you launch it from.
1. Find the shortcut that launched your Roping Assistant Program.
2. Right click it and choose properties from the menu.
3. On the shortcut tab, there is an Advanced button. Click it to bring up the
Advanced dialog.
4. On this dialog, click the "Run as administrator" option so it is checked.
Then click the Ok button.
5. Click the Ok button on the properties dialog.
The software should now work properly when you launch it from the shortcut you
just modified.
How do I create a shortcut on my desktop on windows vista?
Use the following steps to create a shortcut on your desktop to run the software. You can then use the procedure shown above to set the admin rights to run the program.
1. Click the round Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
2. Click "All Programs"
3. Scroll up and down in the listbox on the left of the window until you see the Roping Assistant or Roping Assistant Pro folder.
4. Single click the left mouse button on the Roping Assistant folder. It will open up and show 1 or more entries underneath it.
5. Find the entry that says "The Roping Assistant" or "The Roping Assistant Pro". Make sure it is underneath the Roping Assistant folder. Now right-click the mouse on this entry.
6. From the menu that pops up, choose "Send To".
7. Under the Send To menu, choose Desktop
You now have an icon on your desktop and can follow the steps under "Does the software run on Windows Vista" item above.
